My HP laptop and broken wireless

I'm stunned. I came home yesterday from a fun MPLS class to find my HP dv9008nr laptop wireless wasn't working. I tried everything I could think of but nothing worked. I almost got desperate enough to reinstall Winders XP over Kubuntu, but I contacted HP first. I contacted them via online chat. It went pretty well; slow at times. But, to my surprise, they are replacing it free of charge. I was speechless! I've complained to their support a few times about not having access to regular video card driver updates; ATI and Nvidia crank updates out fairly regularly. HP has one available since 2006. You can't download drivers from the chipset vendor's site because the laptop manufacturer writes (or hacks) the drivers. I've found out that other laptop manfacturers follow suite.

Well, now I have to take back most of the bad things I said about HP. I still want updated video drivers, but cheers to HP for the customer service!
